Clinton vs. Giuliani vs. McCain vs. Obama – the trademark battles.

A search of trademarks filed after 01/01/2005 including names of the current top four 2008 presidential candidates reveals that only John McCain appears to have serious trademark applications pending. Clinton and Obama have “anti-trademarks” pending (i.e. trademark applications filed by those trying to make a statement against these candidates, for whatever reason). And I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict that these “anti-trademark” applications will not mature to registered trademarks. (There are laws that prohibit trademarks that disparage people.) Obama appeared to have a serious trademark application pending (OBAMA — O BABY!) but let it lapse. Giuliani has no trademarks pending.
