Spammers don’t care, bloggers do.
Today, I installed the YesFollow plugin for WordPress, which removes the disincentive created by the default “nofollow” setting, which was designed to eliminate the incentive for spammers to post comments to weblogs. The “nofollow” plugin causes comment links not to be followed by website search engine crawlers such as Google and Yahoo.
The problem is that spammers don’t care if they get in search engine databases or not. Getting their links on blogs suits them just fine. But with “nofollow” implemented, legitimate comments from bloggers
So thanks for the comments, keep ’em coming. They now will be given the credit they deserve.
