* 6-6-66 + 40 = 6-6-6: Erik’s 40th Birthday And Non-Evil 666 Trademark Offer

I am not a hexakosioihexekontahexaphobic.

I was born on 06-06-1966. Today, 06-06-2006, is my 40th birthday. I am not a hexakosioihexekontahexaphobic <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia>, my name is not Damien, and I have no telling scars on my head, but, as you can imagine, I’ve heard all the jokes about my birthday.

Today (2006), the world’s population is about 6.5 billion and there are about 200,000 births per day. In 1966, the world’s population was about 3.5 billion and there were about 100,000 births per day. I know one other person with the exact same birthday as mine (and she is also a lawyer), but I don’t know the other 99,998 folks out there. Personally, I like my odds of being non-evil. I did dress up as Dr. Evil <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Evil> for an Austin Power movie party in the summer of 1999, but I’m not sure that proves that I’m evil.

To prove that I am not evil and not about to take over the world, my law firm, Clock Tower Law Group, will offer its trademark registration services free* for every 6th new client that signs up in next 66 days. Furthermore, for all new clients that sign up in the next 66 days, I guarantee** that if you file a trademark with Clock Tower Law Group, then you will get a registered trademark or I will give you your money back. It’s our non-evil 666 trademark offer.

*There are strings attached. “Free” means that applicants will pay for the USPTO’s filing fees (and other costs, such as postage) but not the firm’s legal fees. It currently costs $325 to file a trademark for one class. Responses to office actions, oppositions, interferences, and the like are not included in the “free” part – just the initial filing. In about two-thirds of the cases, Clock Tower Law Group does not receive any office actions after the initial filing, and registered trademarks issue in about 11-13 months from when they were filed. The “free” services will be provided to every 6th new client who signs up with Clock Tower Law Group for the 66-day period starting 06-06-2006 and ending 08-11-2006 (inclusive). Winners will be posted on the erikjheels.com weblog. One becomes a new client by returning Clock Tower Law Group’s proposal letter to the firm. To be eligible, sign up for this promotion at Clock Tower Law Group’s website <http://www.clocktowerlaw.com/666.html>.

**We can make this guarantee because we do a trademark search as part of every application and only recommend filing a trademark application when there is a good chance of success. The guarantee means that if the USPTO objects to your trademark, then we will give you the option of (1) pursuing another trademark under the same “free” conditions as your first trademark (i.e. you pay the filing fee) or (2) we will refund any legal fees you paid to us.

By the way, if I were evil and were planning on taking over the world, here is how I would start. On 6-6-6, the 40th anniversary of my 6-6-66 birth, I would post a message with the subject “Macintosh vs. Windows: Which Is Better?” on every mailing list that I belong to, encouraging members to cross-post the question to other lists. The resultant flame wars would incite a civil war between Windows and Macintosh enthusiasts. I’m not sure what I’d do next, but that’s how I’d start.

  1. On a whim I did a search for “born on 6-6-66” and found this great site! I’ve never met anyone who shares my birth date of 6-6-66. Thank you, Erik, for creating this and for letting us know about the Facebook page.

I was born at 6:06 am on 6-6-66 in Chicago, IL and I weighed 6.6 pounds. I’m not going to say that I’m not at all evil. I’ll just say that as a Gemini I wear many hats. My son told me once “You really prove what they say about Geminis having multiple personalities. You can go from laughing and happy one minute to ready to bash in someone’s head the next minute!”

I’ve heard all the jokes and comments too. I really love it when after someone hears what my DOB is there’s a noticeable pause before they continue the conversation. My DOB has gotten me out of two speeding tickets! One was on Halloween and I was dressed like a witch and the other time was on a Friday the 13th, which is a day of bad luck here in the US. The best comment I ever heard was when a friend of mine told her girlfriend what my DOB was. Her girlfriend said “Oh, she’s the Devil!” My friend said “No, she has four sixes not three.” then her girlfriend said “Oh, aha, she’s the Head Devil!” I laughed so hard!!!

I love the idea about getting together on our 66th birthday!! It’s been so wonderful “meeting” all of you!! Blessings to you all!!

  2. Another 6/6/66 guy here, born in Owosso, Michigan. The weirdest response I’ve ever heard was years ago from a gas station clerk who was checking my ID. She said, “Hey, did you know that your birthday has all the same numbers in it? 6/6/66?” I was dumbfounded that she thought I hadn’t ever heard that before! One more freaky fact: my younger brother’s birthday is 6/7/67!

  3. I am a 6/6/66 baby. Happy 50th Birthday to all my fellow Gemini born peers!! As we have all had our heads searched by classmates etc, I am glad we share a unique and wonderful summer birthday. (Has anyone noticed that it almost always rained on our birthday?) Have a great and blessed day everyone! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

  4. Hi there,
Oh how lovely to see you all born 6.6.66, like me! This date of birth always brings a smile to someone’s face. Only twice in my life I heard a bad joke, once when I was in hospital! Really ridiculous and very unprofessional. I live in the Netherlands, don’t know other people here born 6.6.66. Yet 11 days and we are fifty, but inside I feel young. I am a social worker, happily married, one child. Wish you all a very happy 6.6.16! Lots of love from Truitje.

  5. Was doing some searches and on a whim typed in ‘born 6/6/66’. Looks like this post got quite a few of us responding. I was born 6/6/1966 at 7:07am (on the way to SATs my friend figured this was the only time that could be 6hr 66min 66sec, then I came home with a 600 and 660 — THAT was a 6s day 🙂 ) Also left handed
We have a club yet? I’m in 🙂

  6. Hi! Another 6/6/66 here…happy early 50th birthday! I was adopted as an infant, so I used to get a lot of laughs with the old “I was born on 6/6/66 and they don’t know who my father is…draw your own conclusions” People are so silly!

  7. Hello Erik,
It’s been sometime since you posted this comment about your birthday but I’ve just come across it today.
I am another 6-6-66 person born on that date. I am happy to know of a few other people born on that day. I now feel as though I’m part of the ‘club’.
I too have heard all the oooh’s and awww’s and the jokes. I too have heard the comment about “well no one will ever forget your birthday, right? lol It gets a bit old after so many years with the same reaction to our birthday. I tell them, “No, I’m not the devil but you’re in trouble if you piss me off.” lol
Well, Erik, you can check another person off your list.
FYI: I am from the Boston, MA area.

    Take care,
    Julie

  8. We have group on facebook called, people born on 6-6-66, we love for all the people born on 6-6-66, to come over and join us,

  9. Hey everyone! I haven’t posted here in years. I came back to see many, many more of us than there were last time I was here.

I’m honored to be in the 6/6/66 club. In a previous post, someone suggested we might have a higher purpose in this world. I have always wondered the same thing and I sure hope we do!

I’m living in Kentucky these days. If any of you are in the Louisville area, maybe we can have a little get-together. That is if any restaurant can handle us!

My email is unchainedmuse@yahoo.com. Would love to hear from my birthday twins!
