* Book Review: How To Sell Your Home In 5 Days

By Bill G. Effros.

I have used this book three times to sell my house myself: 1995, 1998, and 2000. The last time there were 70 visitors at the open house. Each time, the system worked as advertised. In each case, I sold my house for MORE than the advertised price.

This book will work if you stick to it. If it didn’t work for you, it’s likely because 1) you were unwilling to sell your house for the fair market value and/or 2) you didn’t do everything exactly as stated in the book. Remember, it is the MARKET (i.e. the house shoppers) that determines the fair market value of your house.

If you are willing to accept fair market value for your house from buyers who are ready, willing, and able to buy at the time you want to sell, then this is the perfect book for you.

  1. I read this book and implemented the strategies within, however I also asked for more than market value. So the property stayed on the market a little longer than normal, but once the right conditions lined up (competing buyers and good agent) I made an extra $50,000. Worth the wait 🙂
