MythTV is open source software that essentially allows you to build your own TiVo-like device. The name comes from the fact that the creator wanted the “mythical convergence box” that had been talked about for years. The reviewed product costs about 2000 AUD (1 AUD = $0.75). Or, if you’re like my friend Dave, you could just build your own for free.
