About 15 years ago, I said that I wanted to have all of my data (including photos, computer files, music LPs, music CDs, video tapes, etc.) stored in one place. Today, we are just starting to see the convergence of all things data-related. The next step will be when home entertainment systems are fully integrated with home computers. An example of this data convergence is SLIMP3 (http://www.slimp3.com/), a network-based MP3 player that connects to your stereo. SLIMP3 streams MP3s and Internet radio stations to your stereo over your network without a noticeable loss of sound quality.
