Disrupting IP law before we have to.

The “Year of Disruption” project is designed to start a conversation about disrupting IP law for startups.

Stealing a page from GE legend Jack Welch’s playbook, we must “change before we have to.” And “we” includes both the producers of IP services and consumers of IP services. How can patents and trademarks make startups better/faster/stronger? And how can providers deliver better/faster/stronger services?

The “Year of Disruption” project was conceived by serial entrepreneur and Boston patent attorney Erik Heels, but just like inventions require both “conception” and “reduction to practice,” the problem of how to fix IP law for startups will take a village to solve. Why start in the fall? Because we are going back to school.

The business of law is a conversation. So whether you want to write, be interviewed, be videoed, or be a sponsor, we welcome your voice. Just as California and tomatoes are topics that can jump-start a conversation at a dinner party, we have gathered a collection of disruptive articles to jump-start this conversation:

Won’t you join us?
